I draw and paint because when I do, I feel free and alive.

As an artist, I love to recreate solitude and silence. Painting is a close and private relationship with the deepest part of my being, where the spectator is invited to feel his or her own emotions.

The process of painting and drawing is complicated and sometimes difficult, but always fulfilling. When I approach the canvas, it is like a ritual. I look at its size. Then, I prepare the palette with large amounts of colors. The first step is covering the whole canvas. After that, I look at the canvas’s “new personality”; from that point I try to build up it up and to discover the idea and the mystery that it keeps inside. I always work from the background to the front until the idea appears. I finish when I feel it balanced.
